Itinerary

Day 1 - Siem Reap Arrival – Welcome Dinner

Sous Sdei & welcome to Cambodia. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Siem Reap. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at one of finest restaurants in town. Meals: Dinner. Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 2 - Siem Reap – Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom & Bayon

  • Morning Pickup: Tour guide and driver collect you from your hotel to visit the Angkor Temple Complex.
  • Angkor Wat Visit: Ideal early visit for the best light and fewer crowds. Explore the stunning architecture and artistic details of this iconic temple, a three-tiered pyramid with five towers.
  • Historical Significance: Built by Suryavarman II, dedicated to Vishnu, representing the zenith of Khmer architecture and political dominance.
  • Angkor Thom Exploration: Discover the last capital of the Angkorian Empire, enclosed by walls and moats, featuring majestic gates and the Bayon Temple with its famous giant stone faces.
  • Jayavarman VII's Legacy: Learn about the city's construction post-Cham invasion recovery, including significant temples and the Royal Palace area.
  • Return and Leisure: Afternoon return to the hotel in Siem Reap, with the rest of the day free for relaxation.
  • Meals and Accommodation: Includes breakfast and lunch, with accommodations provided in Siem Reap.

Day 3 - Siem Reap: Kbal Spean, Banteay Srei & Ta Prohm

  • Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before heading north to Kbal Spean, known as the "River of a Thousand Lingas".
  • Discover intricately carved riverbeds in the foothills of the Cambodian jungle, vital for ancient irrigation systems.
  • Experience a scenic jungle trek to the carvings, passing through knotted vines and boulders, with views over the jungle.
  • Visit the small waterfall below Kbal Spean for a refreshing break after the trek.
  • Continue to Banteay Srei, renowned as Angkor’s ultimate art gallery and celebrated for its elaborate and fine carvings.
  • Banteay Srei, often called the "Fortress of the Women", is notable for its petite pink temples and intricate detail.
  • Explore the origins of Banteay Srei, built by a Brahman in 967, with architecture that marks a pinnacle in Khmer sculpture.
  • Conclude the day at Ta Prohm, the "Jungle Temple", famous for its untouched appearance and nature-reclaimed ruins.
  • Experience the atmospheric setting of Ta Prohm, reminiscent of how the first European explorers found the ruins.
  • Meals provided: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 4 - Siem Reap – Tonle Sap – Kampong Phluk – Departure

This morning, take a short walk through a tranquil Siem Reap neighborhood to learn about the local way of life before driving to Tonle Sap Lake, South East Asia’s largest freshwater lake with its size varying greatly depending on the season. A boat trip on the lake reveals rural Cambodian aqua-life as it co-exists with the seasonal floods. Later on, make a stop at Kampong Phluk village, built on stilts on the Tonle Sap and less touristic than floating village Chong Khneas. From there, your guide will offer an orientation walking tour to the village to get an insight of fishermen’s life, interact with local people, visit local school, pagoda… Later on, passing by the nearby flooded mangrove forests, the largest in the region. An optional rowing boat trip is recommended in rainy season (June – November). Finally drive to the airport to catch your departure flight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

  • The passengers must ensure on their own that they have a valid passport and other required documents for the necessary period as per the traveling destination immigration rules.
